Background
David joined our firm in 2009 after practicing at a litigation boutique firm in Toronto. He entered the partnership in 2018. David handles a variety of complex litigation files such as multi-party construction, personal injury, commercial and real estate litigation.
David is a skilled litigator with significant courtroom and arbitration experience. He is also a talented negotiator; his meticulous and creative approach helps his clients obtain favourable settlements. He works very hard to maintain a human element to his practice by putting in the effort to understand his clients’ needs, focusing on meeting those needs, and keeping legal fees proportionate to what is at stake. He is assisted in all of this by a team of experienced staff and junior lawyers.
David is very active in the profession and in the community. He serves on the Advocates’ Society’s Mid-Career Advocates’ Standing Committee, having recently co-chaired a national conference for mid-career litigators. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Barrie, having recently served as a club director. He is very involved with his local church group and provides pro bono education law services through Pro Bono Law Ontario.
Outside of the office, David’s greatest passion is his family. He loves spending time with his wife Tina, two-year-old daughter Ruby, Wilson the cat, and Prince the chocolate lab. David’s secondary passion is running. He recently qualified and was accepted for the 2025 Boston Marathon.
David is fluent in German and Swedish. He is trying very hard to learn Spanish.
